Ahead of Tyla's debut album, she’s released 3 tracks which shows off how she can adapt her artistry in different styles, ranging from the high-energy vibes of 'Water' and 'Truth or Dare' to the mellower, acoustic tones of 'Butterflies'. Due to Tyla’s upbringing, she was exposed to a wide variety of music genres such as Rap, R&B, pop type of House in South Africa and fell in love with it all. That's why Tyla’s sound is a fusion of different elements—because she appreciates diverse sounds, not just one.

Since its release this summer, Tyla’s single ‘Water’ has gone viral thanks to the Bacardi style TikTok dance challenge, which by the way looks simple but is much harder than you think! It’s the way Tyla can shake her ass so specifically to one side, you just have to give it go yourself. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve been practicing in front of the mirror so I too can feel like a gorgeous Bacardi babe. The dance is addictive and is one thing that makes this song inescapable! Dancing aside, the sultry lyrics make for a female-empowerment anthem when it comes to celebrating sexuality. From ‘Water’ being her first-ever entry into the prestigious Official Top 40 to securing the number one spot on the Afrobeats charts, Tyla's success knows no bounds.

At only 21 years old, Tyla continues to assert herself as a prominent figure in the music industry, 'Water' serves as a testament to her growth as an artist. With her powerhouse vocals and the ability to experiment with different styles, she solidifies her position as more than just an Amapiano Princess – she is a versatile and dynamic musician capable of captivating audiences across various genres.
