Unforgettable Moments: Cashh's Birthday Headline at OMEARA Receives a 5-Star Review

Review rating - ★★★★★

Cashh (formerly known as Cashtastic) embodies the essence of a Caribbean Star, uniting the UK's Caribbean diaspora, much like artists such as WSTRN & Amaria BB. Hailing from Jamaica, Cashh organically weaves his culture into his music through lyrics and collaborations, such as the classic Wag1 ft WSTRN, and the chilling Nervous Riddim by Jords.

On Sunday, 26th November (which also happened to be Cashh’s birthday) he headlined a sold-out show at London Bridge’s OMEARA venue. The atmosphere was bursting with infectious energy, transforming the gig into an electrifying celebration. Was it the birthday vibes or the triumphant return to the UK after his unexpected deportation to Jamaica in 2014? Perhaps a blend of both. Regardless, Cashh and his team orchestrated an unforgettable experience, ensuring an evening that transcended mere performance into an unforgettable moment for all.

Let’s start with the support acts

The night kicked off with the supporting acts delivering pure fire on stage.

We were greeted early on by none other than Frank Ekwa, who was also accompanied by fellow music artist and hype man, Levelle London - who kept the energy high at all times. Together the pair most definitely warmed the crowd up. If you’ve ever seen Frank Ekwa perform live, you’ll know he’s one of those artists you can never ever forget. From the fun bold dance moves, to the friendly and bold crowd interaction, Mr Ekwa is for sure a crowd pleaser. Performing his summer hit Ko Bang Te’, reimagining Byron Messia’s ‘Talibans’ with a Congolese twist, it was heart warming to see so many people sing the lyrics back to him with passion.

Also from Jamaica, next up we had UK Dancehall artist, The Rara, who was not only dripped out from head to toe (we saw that icey wrist watch) but took to the stage like a duck to water. You may know The Rara from such songs as ‘Elegance (Remix) - ft Kranium & Haile from WSTRN’ or Piña Colada. Raised between Jamaica and the UK (South London to be exact), it’s no surprise why The Rara’s described as ‘The Female’s Favourite’ due to his style and charismatic presence.

The unforgettable host: Quincy

Events are nothing without the exceptional hosts that glue everything together and keep the crowd engaged. Facts or nah? Well Quincy made sure to do his thing up on that stage. He was the perfect mix of cheeky and charming which the audience received well.

Separately, it was nice to see a common theme when it came to the gentlemen and their hair. All except one were rocking their natural locs and this just added to the whole aesthetic and vibes of the night.

Cashh’s show-stopping headline performance!

So you’ve heard what we thought of the supporting acts, now it’s onto Cashh’s big performance. Cash opened with ‘Wash Clothes’ from the top of his iconic homecoming album ‘Return of the Immigrant’, a body of work that vividly paints a picture of struggle, loss and the realities of life at the time he left the UK. The crowd gave Cashh the warmest and most familiar welcome, proudly waving Jamaican flags, and beautifully singing their hearts out.

Special Guests, Kojey Radical, Jords & Stylo G touched the stage at Cashh’s headline show in OMEARA London

Having recently toured with Jords for the Dirt in the Diamond tour performing the infectious tune ‘Nervous Riddim’ where Cashh is featured, and previously joining Kojey Radical on the Reason to Smile tour for the performance of ‘Born’, it was an absolute delight to once again experience the perfection of these collaborations again first hand. This time, however, the spotlight was on Cashh at his very own show. It was so touching to see both Jords and Kojey give Cashh his flowers post-performance. The love and respect between all the artists was equally as beautiful as it was humbling.

But the special guests didn’t just stop there, Stylo G also graced the stage giving us a brief but vibrant performance of Call Mi A Yardie! The surprises just kept on coming as no-one could believe the unforgettable VVIP performance via iPhone. Everyone was well and truly stunned! Although it was Cashh’s birthday, this moment felt like a gift to the fans as it was really a ‘had to be there’ moment.

Energy crew were inside! Mosh pit time

Can you really claim you’re part of the energy crew without creating a mosh pit? Mid-way through his set, Cashh decided it was time for a more intimate connection with his fans, bridging the gap between artist and audience in a way that felt profoundly personal and authentic.

In conclusion, we had a time! Cashh really did himself proud amongst his new and day one fans. His commanding stage presence and emotionally charged delivery makes his future shows an unmissable event. You heard it here first!
